Attention: Only have 1 month to buy PCs with Windows 7 or 8.1 – Follow

Microsoft has been in the market the last three operating systems. This decision was made consciously, to monitor the process of transition to Windows 10.

But now that it is released, and 1 year of in the market, it is time for the Windows 7 and 8.1 be removed from time to time, leaving space for a unique offering.

Windows 7/8.1

Will be on the 1st November that Microsoft descontinuará once the Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, leaving these to keep track of all the new machines that are sold. Until then, the existing offerings need to adapt and adopt Windows 10.

This measure will apply to manufacturers and OEMs, which are thus forced to use Windows 10 as a single offering for their machines. Microsoft has been about to take this measure, but ran for 2 years the end of sales of computers with these systems.

The arrival of this date does not mean, however, the order of these two operating systems, which will continue to receive updates for a few more years, keeping it protected and secure. Windows 7 will have updates until 14 January 2020 and Windows 8.1 will be supported until the 10th of January 2023.

Windows 7/8.1

How you can still have the Windows 7 and 8.1?

But being this measure applied only to large OEMs, there are still some chances of being able to buy machines with Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. The list is not extensive, but can be seen below:

  • Inventory remaining: Even after the sale, manufacturers have machines in stock that they wish to sell, even with the earlier versions of Windows
  • Right to downgrade: All computers sold with the Windows 10 Pro pre-installed come with the right to be reverted to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8.1 Professional.
  • Custom Images: The business customers can create their pictures of the installation and keep them for a longer time.
  • System Builder Oem: The manufacturers of smaller dimensions will be able to continue to build its machines with Windows 7 and 8.1 for some time and, thus, continue to offer their customers machines with these operating systems.
  • Buying Windows: Although discontinued in OEMs, will continue to exist for the versions of Windows on sale and can be bought and installed.

Windows 7/8.1

After the end of Windows XP, which ended in complete form, is now the time of Windows 7 and 8.1 to see its end approaching. There is still support for some years, but only to keep them up to date.

This is more of a way of Microsoft to be able to do to grow your Windows 10 and make it the system most used by all. The popularity of Windows 7 will be hard to beat, but certainly be able to.

Reminds me, then, that on the 31st day of October will be the end of sales of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, and that thereafter the only offering from Microsoft will be just Windows 10, which many have not yet embraced.
