THE US and Huawei are working on the implementation of a strategic partnership for the development of joint projects in the areas of networks and technology, including the development of communications infrastructure, data-centers, video and enterprise solutions

Huawei is one of the largest and most innovative global companies in the telecommunications area, having its entrance in the domestic market happened through the partnership established with the US. This historical relationship between the two companies is now enhanced with the intention of creating a strategic partnership continued for the joint development of communications solutions that enable the continuous strengthening of the capacity of the service and performance of new generation networks in Portugal.

Among the areas targeted by the strategic partnership are the IoT narrow band networking for next-generation broadband, video, networks, software defined (SDN), virtualization of network functions (NFV), data-centres, and integrated company solutions.

To Miguel Almeida, CEO of nos, "the relationship between the teams and the two companies is a long-standing relationship, and that has produced good results. We believe that the joint development of innovative solutions will strengthen the competitive position of the US and Huawei in their respective markets."

Chris Lu, Country Director of Huawei Portugal, "it is with satisfaction that we have signed this memorandum with the US, a company with which we have a history of working together for more than 10 years. Throughout this period we have worked in partnership, which is what we want to continue to develop but also to meet with the best technological solutions".
