Twitter changes rules to give more freedom to users – Express

The microblogging site Twitter will stop counting pictures and external links on the 140-character limit of each publication in an attempt to give more space to write to users. At this point, each link holds 23 of the maximum of 140 characters, even when the Twitter encura automatically

The news is being advanced by Bloomberg citing a source familiar with the process.; the company refused to comment on the alleged plans to the news agency. According to the source, this change can happen in the next two weeks.

In January, founder and CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, had announced that the company intended to explore new ways to enable its users to write longer publications. The limit of 140 characters per tweet was originally adopted for each publication corresponds to a text message on mobile phone; when the company was launched in 2006, before there smarthones, many utilizadore writing tweets as SMS before the publish.
