More than 65 million passwords Tumblr for sale in the call deep web (an area of the internet that escapes the indexing of search engines). Troy Hunt, the digital security expert and creator of information portal on data breach Have I Been Pwned, obtained a copy of the register and told the Motherboard website that the document focuses 65,469,298 emails and hashed (a difficult coding process to reverse) passwords. Registration is to be sold in The Real Deal, an e-commerce portal, by a hacker that presents itself as Peace.
According to the same source, the register has little value given the coding made to passwords by Tumblr. On Motherboard, Peace said the document that state was no more than a mailing list and would not be worth more than $ 150.
Troy Hunt, in turn, believes that at least half of the passwords can be decoded.
