CEO of Ubisoft believes that the future of consoles is in streaming – IGN Brazil

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, said he hopes that traditional consoles are replaced with “new types of islands” – probably streaming-based models. – After the next generation of hardware

Guillemot he spoke on the topic during an investor conference that took place on Thursday (12), transcribed by Gamespot site. “We hope that we will have new consoles that will make this market continues to grow, and we feel that … we still have another generation of consoles before we have new types of consoles hitting the market.”

On how would these “new types of consoles,” Guillemot has no doubts:. “We believe in streaming – [ now ] it requires a lot of bandwidth We think it will grow, but today, with the types of games we will still take a little time to become more popular. “

When asked about the much ballyhooed launch of Neo, the possible hardware upgrade PlayStation 4 (that rumored to be launched in September 2016), Guillemot reinforced their view that another full generation of consoles will be released before any paradigm shift occur:

“there is nothing official about the new consoles, so my expectation is that we will have a cycle of consoles before we went to the stream, “he said. “I have no dates or anything, but what I see is that manufacturers would prefer to have new hardware once again to harness the potential of new possibilities that they can bring.”

Many branch executives games have expressed their belief that the industry’s future is in streaming without console games – even the big boss of the PlayStation brand, Shuhei Yoshida, would not sure whether to be a PS5.
