No Man’s Sky – The delay reduces interest in the game? – Eurogamer.pt

After Sean Murray have spent many years in the studio Criterion Games to develop sequels in the Burnout series, decided to found the studio Hello Games. After two successful Joe Danger games, he decided to create something different. He took advantage of the success of their independent creations to start a new and ambitious project inspired by your childhood dreams of being an astronaut. Thus began to take shape the game that is now known as No Man’s Sky. Presented in December 2013, No Man’s Sky quickly gained the most ambitious indie title ever and joined the list of most wanted games for consecutive years. It was expected for 2014, desired in 2015 and now leads to despair who waits for him for more than two years.

There are three particularly special moments in the history of the development of this game, the first was the presentation in VGX Awards in 2013, where he left half a world amazed by the possibilities presented, the second was in the Sony conference at E3 2015 that were presented concepts like endless exploration and infinite worlds. The third was to confirm the release date for June 22. However, you may need to add a fourth special moment to list the recent announcement that the game was postponed to August 9. This is because awakened truly unbelievable reactions between communities and gave rise to unbelievable comment.

Especially fascinating when you consider that this is a small studio with a new intellectual property. Sean Murray received death threats and even Jason Schreier, the journalist’s Kotaku revealed that the possibility of such an event, was criticized for having forced Sony to make true the news and to postpone the game. It’s a strange world we live in and the most fascinating is how a game that hardly anyone played even in an intellectual property without cards dealt, is arousing much passion and devotion towards industry supporters.

Since the presentation in December 2013 that its concept proved to be fresh and revolutionary enough to fall in love with players around the world. Won the E3 2014, where it was referred to as one of the best games of the event, and returned to make its at E3 2015 as mentioned above. However, always eluded the release date and the game was put off without ever having received a concrete release date. The Hello Games never committed to a specific date and so continued for two years. Sony itself has come to give No Man’s Sky as one of the great games of PlayStation 4 in 2015 but has never advanced a date. In Paris Games Week was finally confirmed for June 2016.

Each new delay not confirmed explicitly, every insistence on not commit to a date, some fans were losing interest but now that the date has been revealed in full and subsequently confirmed, the furious reactions contrast with the relaxed nature of the game. Journalists or programmers threatened and insulted by a game like No Man’s Sky seems to reveal the sort of exaggeration that this industry now delivers.

Our question is how to look at this whole situation of No Man’s Sky. Your interest remained or was decreasing over time? Will your ambition justifies the long development, after all this is a small studio, or the lack of information and relevant news, combined with the date that insists on running away, are saturating you?
