CEO of Ubisoft says that we have only one more generation consoles – IGN Portugal

The CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, says he expects the current consoles are replaced with “new types of console” – based on streaming – after the next generation. This means that, according to the executive, we have only one more generation consoles “traditional”, after the current.

“With regard to the consoles, we expect there are new consoles able to continue to drive the growth of this market … we still have another generation of consoles, before we see a new format to reach the market, “he said during a meeting with investors for the presentation of financial results comoanhia (via . Gamespot)

With regard to the meaning of this “new console format,” Guillemot was clear:

“we believe in streaming -. it depends on huge bandwidth we thought it will continue to grow, along with new types of games, but it will take to become really popular “

When questioned. with possible updates for PS4.5 and new Xbox One, Guillemot seemed to reiterate that a new generation will emerge before any major change:

“There is nothing official that matter, so my expectation is that there is a new cycle of consoles before we get into the final streaming. I have no dates or other indicator, what I see is that manufacturers prefer a new hardware so that they can harness the potential of new possibilities on the table. “

Many industry executives expressed his belief in the future of streaming via cloud for the future model of the consoles, even the head of PlayStation, Shuhei Yoshida showed doubts about a possible PS5.
