Discount on car purchase large families only in 2016 – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The tax benefit to the shopping cart by the large families was published Wednesday in the Official Gazette, applying only to vehicles with more than five seats purchased from January 2016 onwards.

From January 2016, numerous families who buy a new car will be entitled to a discount of 50% in vehicle tax value (ISV), one of the taxes that burden the purchase cars. The measure is intended to be a support to households with children, but you must observe a set of restrictions either on the size of the household or the type of car that can be purchased.

First of all, the expression large families those who have more than three dependents or those who have three dependents but in which at least two have less than eight years old.

Eligible vehicles must be passenger and have a capacity for more than five seats. Additionally, it is required that the cars have the same CO2 emissions or less than 150g / km.

This tax benefit will be awarded January 2016 onwards, once only every household, and can not exceed 7,800 euros.

This is one of the measures framed in birth the stimulus package, which has been under discussion in Parliament, after several indicators have been aware of the worrying drop in birth rates in Portugal.
