A Danish study indicates that stop using facebook can increase happiness. The research says that people who stopped using the social network, for just one week, they felt happier and more satisfied with life than those in the same period, were connected.
The study involved 1095 people in Denmark. The group was divided into two parts: half of the people continue to have access to Facebook, while the other half left using the social network.
“We chose Facebook, since it is the social network most used by people of all ages,” said Meik Wiking, director of the Institute for Research on Happiness, the news agency AFP .
After a week of analysis, the researchers obtained results. The research shows that 88% of people who are no longer connected to facebook for seven days felt happier. Similarly, 84% of the people said they could involved enjoy life more. However, 12% of people said they were dissatisfied by not using the social network.
According to the study, Facebook is primarily responsible for the lack of concentration of people and the less active social life.
“Instead of focusing on what we need, unfortunately we have the custom to concentrate on the things of others,” said the study authors.
