The Uber, the platform more controversial taxis in the world, signed an agreement with TomTom, Thursday. The Danish navigation system will serve carpooling service with interactive maps for over 300 cities, says AFP .
The amounts involved in the agreement have not been revealed but it is known that, as of today, the two companies will work hand in hand.
“The TomTom signed a global agreement for several years to provide maps and traffic information to the Uber app. We are excited to provide our best local information to Uber, “said Charles Cautley, the director of TomTom, told AFP.
The deal could mean a replacement of Google Maps service, that when they are developing a line of transport may become competition for Uber.
The taxis platform has played in recent months, several controversies, including demonstrations of taxi drivers at the international level, including in Portugal, the charges of practicing misfits prices and even a case of violation, India.
However, the Uber remains popular worldwide and is listed on 50 billion dollars in the bag.
