Schools will have manuals to identify signs of domestic violence – Daily News – Lisbon

All the schools in the country will, from September, domestic violence prevention manuals, so that teachers and auxiliary personnel can more effectively detect situations of abuse in the family context. That is, a kit will be distributed to the rules of how to act and how to detect behavioral signs of the victims of abuse (whether students or mothers). This manual will be further explained how, where and to whom to report suspected domestic violence detected by those who work daily in Portuguese schools. They will also be given training sessions to teachers and staff regarding this criminal phenomenon. The initiative was confirmed to DN by Teresa Morais, Secretary of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Equal Opportunities, yesterday presented in Parliament, the study “Judicial Decisions on homicide in marital context,” Criminology School of the Faculty of Law of Porto and still work “Court decisions on domestic violence” of the Center for Social Studies, University of Coimbra.
