Microsoft buys Havok, a leading physics engine for games – Teciber

Microsoft from now owns a valuable peeling of the video game industry. The Irish company Havok for an undisclosed, was acquired by Microsoft, the software giant advertisement to purchase on your blog.

Havok, which licenses its technology to nearly all the world’s game makers, is known as the best engine to develop realistic motion to bodies, bullets and vehicles franchises like Halo and Call of Duty. Havok is also known to allow movies with special effects such as Matrix and Troy.

Now a new statement from the company arrives to bring a very interesting novelty. The Havok graphics engine is out of the hands of Intel after 8 years and ending up on Microsoft’s power. The Redmond giant said it will continue working closely with the company’s engineers to allow Havok continue providing the excellent tools for games.

We are very proud to bring the Havok for the Microsoft family, we will continue to work with developers to create great experiences in games, and continue to license Havok development tools for partners.

We believe that Havok is a fantastic addition to existing tools and components of Microsoft’s platform for developers, including DirectX 12, Visual Studio and Microsoft Azure.

Havok works with popular publishers in the world and studios development, including Microsoft Games Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, EA, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft, Wargaming, Remedy, Bungie and Infinity Ward

Microsoft assured, it will continue to license the engine to other producers
