Snmay Ved bought this domain for only $ 12 (about R $ 48), but their joy was short-lived. One minute after the purchase, Google Domains canceled everything and went out of their order history, returning the money to the Ved account.

Still, Ved says that during this small, short time, felt “very lucky”. “For a minute, I had access. At least now I can say I am the man who owned the Google.com for a minute,” he said in his Linkedin account, where disclosed this its “historic achievement”.

How did it happen?
A few months ago, Google opened his own purchase service domains, known as Google Domains.

On Wednesday (30), Sanmay Ved, who has worked in the company, was researched fields of curiosity on Google Domains when he noticed that the Google.com itself, domain higher World trafficking, was available.

He did not think twice. He bought the Google.com for $ 12

The purchase was made, and Ved can see your Google control panel Search Console updated with all the Google.com information.

A minute later, however, the Google Domains canceled the purchase stating that “someone had purchased that domain before.”

Where
Sanmay Ved reported the incident to the Google Security, and the company recognized the error.

But it was still not clear what the problem was: it was a Google Domains error or actually Google forgot to renew the domain at that very moment, something that would be quite rare.

But Google is not the first company to star in a case like this: in 2003, Microsoft forgot to renew your domain “Hotmail.co.uk”.

Someone bought it, and Microsoft had to ask them to return it.

This happened and, shortly thereafter, the company adopted measures to ensure that this does not happen again. Something that surely Google will also make.
