GNR strengthens supervision on the use of mobile phone and seat belt – Porto Canal

The GNR accentuates, on Wednesday, throughout the country, supervising the use of mobile phone while driving, and the use of seat belts and car seats for children, indicates the corporation.

To carry out this operation called “Guardian Angel” GNR said that will be mobilized 1,000 military territorial commands and the National Traffic Unit.

At stake are the most common offenses such as lack of belt safety and chairs for children and cell phone use and according to the National Republican Guard operation will focus pathways lying within the localities and national, regional and local roads.

The GNR registered since January 2015 until 10 August this year, 18,697 offenses for improper use of mobile phone while driving, 19,880 for improper or non-use of seat belts and 1,427 by lack of use of car seats for children.

The GNR also states that, given these numbers, will be performed several preventive-oriented operations to alert drivers to the risks associated with these offenses, mainly from improper or non-use of seat belts.
