The GNR intensifies, Wednesday, and across the country, the monitoring the use of safety belt, chairs for children and a mobile phone while driving, indicated the corporation.
For the operation, called “Guardian Angel”, will be mobilized 1,000 military territorial commands and the National Traffic Unit, to carry out 470 enforcement actions, said the GNR in a statement.
According to the National Guard, these actions will give priority to roads situated within localities and national, regional and local roads, which are more frequent infractions for lack of safety seats and belts for children and cellphone use.
The GNR recorded since the beginning of the year until the 10th of August, 18,697 violations for improper use of mobile phone while driving, 19,880 by improper or non-use of seat belts and 1,427 by the lack restraint systems for children.
Given these numbers, the GNR stresses that will hold this year, a number of preventive-oriented operations, in order to alert drivers to the risks associated with these offenses, mainly from improper or non-use of the belt security and chairs for children, taking into account that are associated with the leading causes of aggravation of injuries in an accident.
