Sardine Festival Portimão anima – The city of Portimão is until Sunday the capital of grilled sardines, with the Sardine Festival, an event that takes place since the 80s, but with breaks in between. Over five days are expected thousands of visitors to indulge in a beautiful sardines.
Some restaurants in town have joined the event with the dish “festival” that consists of a slice of bread, four sardines, baked potato and salad on the Algarve, option costs 7 euros. But the grilled sardines can also be tasted at the waterfront of Portimão, from 19 hours, with free admission.
Besides the sardines also find horse mackerel, but the visitors can taste other products, sausages to grilled pork Alentejo, finishing dinner with regional sweets.
“The sardine is a delight. Each passing year this better. Do not lose a festival, every year I am present because it is a party that I love, always accompanied by family and friends, “said Albertino Miranda, who lives in France.
Tony Carreira drove thousands into a frenzy
Alongside the sardine, which is the queen, not lack entertainment in celebration of warm nights.
