32,000 new leasing contracts recorded in May – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

In May the Portal of Finance had 119,294 contracts, of which 32,000 relate to new leases, according to the newspaper Público.

In May the total leases recorded in the Portal of Finance amounted to 119,294, with 32,000 new contratualizações. The remaining 87,000 records relate to existing contracts, but that had to be registered in recent months in order to be able Portal issuing electronic income receipts.

The accounting is advanced by the newspaper Público Ministry of Finance, which explains that a part of these contracts concerns the new contratualizações – a reaction to a change of rules that determines the registration of new stamp duty leases and the payment can only be done via the Portal of Finance. Elsewhere, impossible to quantify, concerns illegal contracts, still writes the journal.

In April, the Ministry of Finance contacted 90 000 owners to regularize their tax returns related to rental income since 2010 .
