An application developed by a group of students from the University of Aveiro allows the driver to know in real time what is the probability of having an accident
.
Named “Risk On Wheels”, the application has no cost and It provides information to drivers on the level of risk they face at some point. This application for smartphones intended to help reduce the number of accidents on Portuguese roads.
“Risk On Wheels” assesses the level of risk in a scale from zero to one hundred and through three colors. On the scale, the number 0 is a level of zero accidents, while 100 is a high alert. The three colors – green, yellow and red – represent low, medium and high risk, respectively
The project was developed by six students of the AU, attending the 3rd year of Computer and Telematics Engineering. the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. The application will contain data such as the age of the driver, the hours of rest, the speed, the type of vehicle you drive or accident history
