It was the own Dick Costolo to decide to leave the post of CEO (chief executive) and Twitter that it was communicated to workers. The post will be assumed temporarily since July 1 by Jack Dorsey as the company tries to find a permanent solution.
The place of Costolo had been questioned in the past six months due to weak growth of social network and a poor performance in the bag, prompting some investors to demand change.
The official confirmation came, of course, through the social network.
The news comes at a time when increasing rumors about the possibility of twitter can be bought by Google.Costolo was the CEO of the company since October 2010 and replaced at the time the co founder Ev Williams.
