Upload a smartphone through the sound? There is already a prototype – Daily IOL

Suppose you had a smartphone whose battery can be charged through sound, as of a football stadium on game day or just using the conversations of coffee.

For now, it is just a prototype built by scientists at Queen Mary University, London, in cooperation with researchers from Nokia, but can be a reality.

“Charging through sounds and vibrations can increase the use of electronic devices and allow them to function longer without the need to connect to a charger,” said Joe Briscoe, one of the scientists from the university London, the site Mashable.

Another advantage, according to the researcher, it is being an environmentally friendly solution, since it does not use conventional energy.

The energy accumulator, or nanogenerator, works by using the piezoelectric properties of zinc oxide.

“I believe that this way of charging mobile phones can be part of the future, but probably will not be enough power to stop the sound completely with conventional chargers,” said the scientist.
