Cisco will lay off 6,000 workers worldwide – TeK.sapo

No official information about the countries where the jobs will be eliminated, but in response to TeK, a communications agency in Portugal Cisco noted that the local trend in recent years has been towards hiring more resources, that number will have grown 14% in 2013.
 

The announcement of redundancies was made during the presentation of the company’s quarterly results, which were above analysts expectations.
 

Cisco reported revenue of 12.4 billion dollars, comparable to the same period of last year and better than initial expectations for a decline between 1 and 3%. The profit stood at 2.8 billion dollars, also stable compared to 2013.
