Mosaic cork Ponte de Sor is candidate for world record

The work, which will feature more than 300 000 corks, begins to be produced this Wednesday.

The municipality of Ponte de Sor announced this Monday, we will start with the construction of the largest cork mosaic in the world, with the goal of placing the part in the Guinness World Records.

The work , which will feature more than 300 000 corks, will start to be produced on Wednesday at the Center for Arts and Culture of Ponte de Sor, by Albanian artist Saimir Strati, who holds seven records in the Guinness World Records.

According to the municipality, the mosaic will be produced to achieve 24 meters long by 4.5 meters high, totaling 108 square meters.

The council also announced that the work should be completed on September 27, counting that day with the presence in Ponte de Sor various personalities related to the book of records, including an official judge Guinness World Records for delivering the certificate that testifies to the inscription on the international album of that institution.
