Twitter has reaffirmed this Monday the rule that limits the ‘tweets’ to 140 characters, but has announced that pictures and videos will not be counted for the size of the messages.

‘ Tell the maximum with your 140 characters! Photos, videos, GIF, questions and quotes do not count”, has announced in its platform Twitter, which seeks to expand its followers and expects to achieve a profit for the first time in its history.

Twitter announced this new guidance in may to allow its 310 million users, add images and videos to their messages, despite the limit of 140 characters.

This restriction is one of the hallmarks of Twitter, created 10 years ago.

The group has broaden its audience in the face of competition from other platforms and social networks (such as Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr), that do not have restrictions on the size of messages.
