The government allocates 5 million to adapt public spaces and tourist attractions to people with disabilities – Observer

The Government will release this Friday two lines of funding in the overall amount of 5 million euros to promote the adaptation of public spaces and tourism for people with disabilities, revealed to the Lusa news agency the secretary of State for Tourism.

"Let’s try to speed up the preparation and training of our destinations to be able to receive all the people. We will release guides to support the adaptation of public spaces, hotels, restaurants and [spaces of] tourism for people with mobility [reduced] and we will also be launching two lines of funding," said the secretary of State for Tourism, Ana Mendes Godinho.

This initiative is part of Tourism Week, which now starts and runs until the 01 day of October, with iniciavas in various parts of the country.

The lines of funding and support that today will be presented within the program "All for All" and are intended "both to the municipalities, either to offer the tourist, to prepare for and adapt to be able to receive all the people," said Ana Mendes Godinho.

"that Will be two lines: one to support the adaptation of the public spaces and another to support the conversion and adaptation of hotels, tourist accommodation, catering and entertainment tourism, in a total amount of five million euros", he explained the ruler.

The focus of this Week’s Tourism Day, which the World is celebrated on 27 September, is based on the support of the inclusion, being the "All for All" a "outreach programme that aims to raise awareness of the tour operators towards the needs of people with disabilities", said the secretary of State.

Among the various initiatives that take place throughout this week to highlight the launch today, in Elvas, line project support for Wi-Fi, which aim at the installation of networks of free internet in the historical centres, with the aim of attracting tourists from other areas of the country.

In the next day 28, in Coimbra, will be launched Revive, a joint program of the ministries of Economy, of Culture and of Finance, which intends to valorise the heritage of the abandonment.

on This day, the Government will announce ten of the 30 buildings that, until the end of the year, will be leased to private entities, with a commitment that they will be recovered, rehabilitated and made accessible to the public. One of the buildings covered will be, according to Ana Mendes Godinho, the Santa Clara Monastery, in Coimbra.

Will still be released this week on the program Algarve 365, with initiatives daily over 365 days to combat seasonality and attract tourists all year round.
