Portuguese Codacy winning one of the biggest events … – Público.pt

                 


                         
                     

                 

 
                         

The Portuguese company Codacy was awarded in Web Summit in Dublin, an event dedicated to large entrepreneurship and technology.


                     


                          The Codacy, we developed a service for companies to automatically review and find bugs in computer code, was awarded a tender presentations, which are commonly called in the jargon of the industry by the English word pitch . The startup was awarded in the category Beta, aimed at companies who have passed the initial stage and got some investment.

The company was born with the name Qamine when founder Jaime Jorge, was doing a master’s degree at the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. Jorge ended up creating a company and work in the incubator Startup Lisbon, after having succeeded in obtaining investment capital fund risk Seedcamp London.

Today, the company has eight people, and a year ago, received an investment around 400 000 euros by Portuguese funds Espírito Santo Ventures and Faber Ventures.

The Web Summit convened this year about 20 000 people and among the speakers were the co-founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey, co-founder Niklas Zennström of Skype and the entrepreneur Elon Musk, founder of Tesla electric cars.
