The Minister of Agriculture and Sea Assumption ridges, announced on Monday that the small forest owners will have tax benefits under the green tax reform.


                     


                         “A green tax reform includes positive measures to give a boost to investment in the forest too,” said Assumption ridges during the ceremony of the Special Assessment Device Fighting Forest Fires (DECIF) 2014.

According Minister, the reform of forestry taxation will include eight steps, including the IRS level, Municipal Property Tax (IMI) and stamp duty.

Assumption Ridges added that there are about 400 000 small forest owners the country often do not have the resources to make the investments and comply with all its obligations, and not feel compensated with forest investments.

“Therefore, it was possible in green tax reform, including the reform of forest taxation, “he added.

During the ceremony assessment of forest fire season, conducted by the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC), the president of this service center Major General Francisco Pereira Grave, highlighted the good results achieved this year.

According to the data of the ANPC, 2014 with the lowest number of fires in the past 25 years and the burned area records the second value more low of the last 35 years.

The national operational commander, José Manuel Moura, said that this year there have been 7,217 incidents of fire, which caused 19 910 hectares of burnt area.

José Manuel Moura also said 123 were injured during the fire season.

The president of ANPC, Grave Pereira, also said that the personal protective equipment will arrive by fire brigades before the fire season of 2015, currently being tendered to the public.
