Facebook received 354 inquiries from Portugal – Daily News – Lisbon

The Portuguese authorities made 354 requests for information about users and Facebook accounts to directors of social network, only the first half of this year. The figures were released this week, the third report on Facebook inquiries from 83 countries.

In all, the social network received 34.946 million requests for information about
 users, including IP addresses, messages and account information, a rise of 24%
  the previous semester.

Portugal is the 10th country with more requests and, according to the report, 40% of all cases data were presented. The number of requests from authorities more than doubled:. In the latter half of 2013 had been 140

The US tops the list with over 15 000 applications, which were were seen in 80% of cases. India with about 4500 and Germany in 2537 to complete the “podium”. France, England, Italy, Brazil and and come after them.

The report says that even though the content censored because of local laws rose 19%. India, Turkey and Pakistan are the countries where these restrictions are more visible, but Russia, Germany and France also have dozens of recorded occurrences of this kind.
