* LAS VEGAS – Samsung has introduced a new device to its line of tablets. This time, instead of betting on Android, as the company got used to doing in recent years, the company unveiled the Galaxy S TabPro, which uses Windows 10. The unit also comes with a cover-keyboard, similar to what we know in Surface and iPad Pro.
The tablet, designed to be very light and thin (up to 690 grams and 6.3 mm thick), has a Super AMOLED screen of 12 inches, filled with a resolution 2160x1440p, which is slightly less than what we see in the current line of tops smartphones of the company. There are 5 megapixel cameras both front and back of the appliance, but only the back has autofocus.
Inside, it features an Intel Core M processor dual-core 2.2 GHz, which is a chip optimized for thinner devices that do not have a fan for cooling. Thus, its performance is limited by the need to keep the temperature under control. In addition, there are 4 GB of RAM, which seems enough for a tablet.
The device has a battery of 5200 mAh and a USB connector 3.1 type C, which allows versatility, enabling connectivity to multiple devices at the same time charges the tablet.
It is interesting also to note that traditionally, the company reserved the Galaxy brand with Android devices only. With the arrival of TabPro S, the concept seems to have changed, and become a broader brand that covers all the company’s mobile line.
Other gadgets
The tablet was just one highlight. Check out other products highlighted by the company at the time:
Project Beyond: the company considers the device the “first virtual reality camera 360-degree fully automated professional.” It combines well with Gear VR, virtual reality glasses of the company.
SmartThings Extended USB Adapter: A little USB gadget that will be distributed free with the new SUHD TVs in prey. The device enables the TV becomes the center of the connected home, controlling several other devices.
New TV: The company will have several new models 4K TVs, ranging in size between 49 inches and 88 inches. Samsung also been proud to show that these are their first TVs with curved design virtually no borders around the panel.
One remote to rule them all: To eliminate the proliferation of remote controls, the new TVs with Samsung’s Tizen recognize connected devices and enable through the use of a single control. For example, if you connect a xbox one on your TV, you can directly navigate through the interface for controlling television, eliminating the need to take the control of the Xbox.
Gear S2 Classic: A new version of the clock Gear S2, with new special materials such as rose gold 18 carat and platinum. It was also announced that the clock is gaining new applications and support for iOS, which is a plus.
