“Black Friday or black fraud”? Deco gives the answer – Renaissance (press release)

The Deco examined the prices in many shops, between 16 and 27 November, and found that there was fraud and price manipulation. After all, cheap is expensive.

After receiving several reports of consumers, denouncing the rise in prices in the run times of discounts or balances, Deco analyzed 1,862 products from some stores.

Conclusion? One in 20 products advertised discounts violation of the law of Balances and Promotions and the Law on Unfair Commercial Practices.

The discount was never real, because before “Black Friday , the stores have increased the price of about 10% of products analyzed.

Note that reached the wording had three egregious cases.

In Worten, the price of TV LG 55UF770V increased by over 60% on the eve of “Black Friday”. Combined with the increases and reduced by the discounts, between 25 and 27, the TV increased 340.20 euros

In the same store, the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S4 i9595 4G ​​increased by 100 euros on 24 November;. in the “Black Friday”, three days later the discount was, only 80.98 euros.

In Radio Popular, the price of TV LG 32LF5610 increased 80 euros on 18 November. In “Black Friday”, the discount was 40 euros.

The situation has been reported to the Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) and the Consumer Directorate General, asking them to sanction the undertakings concerned. The fines can reach 45,000 euros for each case reported.

According to data presented this month by the Interbank Services Society (SIBS), the Portuguese spent more than 700 million euros in the week’s “Black Friday”.
