By 14:00, 111 000 students will do English diagnostic test applied by Cambridge Inglês Language Assessment. But if by chance the strike of teachers prevent the realization of proof in some of the rooms provided, students will not be required to repeat the test, unlike what has happened with some oral tests (one of the examination components) that have been postponed because of the strike by teachers, but only because the deadline for its completion only ends on 22.
Students who fail to take the test will not be adversely affected. “Not performing one of the test components prevents the production of a result”, explains the Institute for Educational Assessment (IAVE), but as the evidence does not account for the note, students will have access to not only language proficiency certificate English (ie in case of those who have requested this document)
The preliminary Inglês test (PET) allows for a level of certification B1. – equivalent to 9 years – and is compulsory for students who are to end the 3rd cycle. In addition to the 107,000 students attending this school year, enrolled in the trial other 4000 who want to obtain the certificate. The latter have to pay 25 euros for the document.
