Obtaining the hunter letter will now depend only on pass an examination and payment of a fee, according to a government decision taken on Thursday by the Cabinet.
At the meeting, the government approved a change to the legal framework of conservation, development and exploitation of hunting resources, with a view to sustainable management and the principles governing the hunting activity.
“This legislation aims to simplify and modernization of administrative activity related to obtaining the skills necessary for the practice of hunting, eliminating the specifications of hunter license, allowing the latter to depend only on pass an examination and payment of the fee, “the statement issued after the meeting the Council of Ministers.
The ordinance establishes, on the other hand, the measures necessary for the adequate protection of wetlands and waterfowl hunting in context, imposed in compliance with the commitments that bind Portugal internationally.
These commitments result from the ratification of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, especially as Waterfowl Habitat.
