Galaxy S6 and S6 Galaxy Edge available April 10 (video) – Exame Informática

In an event prior to the opening of the Mobile World Congress, Samsung brought together hundreds of journalists to reveal the new top of the range of your portfolio.

JK Shin, President and CEO, Samsung Electronics, opened the presentation explaining that the challenge for the company was ambitious: “Build the best we had ever achieved.” The result is two terminals that break with some of the design we knew the Galaxy so far. For example, the speaker and the entrance to the headphones went to the bottom of the terminal where the USB port is now unprotected. But the big change is the same lack of a back cover. Samsung says that “only now, unlike others, we are confident to close access to the battery.” This is because the new terminals support both charging by induction protocols commonly used in the market. Namely:. WPM and PMA

In fact, in terms of battery Samsung has developed a new technology that allows you to charge four hours in just 10 minutes. In fact, the first time a conference of this size, Samsung demonstrated the innovations of its terminals comparing them with those used by Apple. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were “victims” used to show how the S6 load faster and have better quality cameras.

But here’s the details

The S6 has a 5.1 inch screen, quad HD resolution. The screens use glass Gorilla Glass 4, Super Amoled and have a pixel density of 577 dots per inch. The most obvious difference between the two terminals is the same curvature that mark both sides of the S6 Edge. Areas that will be used for notifications, change contextually (whichever is being done on the phone) or, among other things, to create shortcuts. – Something similar to what currently happens in Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung says that the metal used is 50% stronger than that used in other phones and not “will double” – another canard for Apple.

In terms of performance, the phones integrate 64-bit architecture with 14 nm processors. The manufacturer says that the terminals are 35% more energy efficient. The memory is used DDR4 and, again, second, Samsung, allows access to 80% faster than in DDR3 memory technology (used in S5, for example). Incidentally, the storage itself uses the Universal Flash Storage 2.0 technology. which enables faster access to information. The terminals have only 6.8 mm thick.

In terms of camera terminals comprise F1.9 lens, HDR in real time capture mode in low light for the first.

For the main camera, the Korean manufacturer 16 MP, F1.9 lens, ISO. 0.7 seconds. Double click the home button. System auto focus faster following objects.

The Android experience is different

The Android experience has also changed. There is a new system of notifications and shortcuts. Samsung says that the interface responds more quickly. No more scrolling and all the colors of the interface are different. Context menus are designed on two levels: a quick and another that provides access to more advanced features. Experience the Edge has differences. You can, for example, give a color to a contact and have the phone turned and yet, see who is calling.

The fingerprint reader placed behind, close to the camera, can be used to send automated messages.

Samsung Pay

And Samsung continues to “tread the same ground that Apple”. After Apple Pay have been star in the presentation of the iPhone 6 event, the Korean manufacturer has demonstrated in Barcelona more details on the Samsung Pay. The system supports a larger ecosystem by integrating technologies: NFC and MST. The technology that makes the difference is called MST (Magnetic Secure Transaction) and allows using the digital payment even when the store only has common ATM terminals. For security, the system uses the fingerprint to authenticate the payment which is accompanied by a system of tokens that must be exchanged between devices.

Mastercard, VISA, Chase, Bank of America … are some the entities that will support the system says, Samsung when available this summer in the US and Korea will be the digital payment system longer supported in the world. As always, there is no forecast for availability in Europe.
