Microsoft’s monthly update fixes FREAK vulnerability – TeK.sapo

Yesterday, March 10th, was a day of Patch Tuesday – the second Tuesday of each month in which Microsoft offers a set of security updates for their products. In this latest update US technology solves two major problems that left Windows computers exposed.

This is the FREAK vulnerability – that made headlines last week – and the Stuxnet virus – that Microsoft had already corrected in 2010, but returned to merit the attention of the company.

In all Microsoft released 14 patches for their products, five of which are considered with reviews.

In the case of FREAK security issue there is the possibility of hackers intercetarem communication made between computer and servers, if the same were made through SSL / TLS security protocols.

It should be noted that although Windows also be affected, browsers from Apple and Google’s Android are among those most exposed to FREAK vulnerability – resulting from a security breach which is based a charge made by the US in the 90s.

An investigation to some sites reveals that in Portugal there are at least 87 web pages of high-profile vulnerable to FREAK, and the site of Parliament is one of the listed.
