PC sales fall 8.7% in 2015, estimates consultancy – Globo.com

The IDC research firm revised its estimates and predicted a further fall in computer sales in 2015, based on a large inventory of notebooks and the impact of dollar appreciation.

The company said on Wednesday (26) that the demand for these devices should not be stabilized by 2017.

IDC expects sales to fall 8.7% this year. The forecast is higher than previous, falling 6.2%.

The company also said it expects the second quarter was a period of transition, with vendors preparing for the arrival of Windows system 10 in the second half of this year.
