Foxconn is preparing to hire 100,000 workers to manufacture the new iPhone

The Taiwan Foxconn company will hire 100,000 workers to crank production of the new iPhone model. The new Apple smartphone model is expected to be released on September 18.

The Spanish newspaper Expansión says that Foxconn, the leading manufacturer of Apple products, is already to increase their assembly lines to hire about 100 thousand workers for the production of the new model of the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and 6C on the Zhengzhou plant in China, from where most of the current iPhone models.

According to the Chinese press, cited by Expansión, it is expected that the latest models of the iPhone to be announced next September 9th and launched on 18 September.

Although the company usually require that their employees have between 23 and 40 years, this time the parameters have been extended to workers between 18 and 45 years. It is also expected that contractors will work daily over three hours than usual, receiving $ 550 (close to 480 euros) monthly.

Foxconn has been the target of protests and strikes by workers , who complain consistently low wages and excessive working hours.

In 2012, thousands of Foxconn workers staged a strike in one of the factories where manufactured the iPhone 5, complaining about the workload, the that halted production of the Apple phone.

This Zhengzhou factory of Foxconn, which produces electronics for Apple, HP, Nokia and Dell, has produced more than 118 million smartphones in 2014.
