The Mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina, delivered on Friday, the Administrative Court of the District Lisbon, an injunction to try to catch the competition for the sub Carris and the Lisbon Metro. The local authority considers that the “damage to the public interest”, where the procedure is maintained, “far superior to the damage that can be caused by the suspension of pre-contractual procedure,” since it is not “plausible . “that the main actions to be brought from getting decided before the entry into operation before the sub-

The Government launched on 23 March the contract for the two contracts: one for the sub of the Metro transport system Lisbon for nine years (until 2024), with compulsory maintenance of rolling stock, and one for the sub for eight years (until 2023), the surface transportation service currently concession to Carris, being stipulated the obligation to renew all the company’s fleet. According to Secretary of State for Transport, Sergio Monteiro, the sub-dealers may not, throughout the duration of the contract period, increase the price of tickets, which is indexed to inflation.

Interested parties have until May 14 to submit proposals and the award criterion is the “lowest price”. Sergio Monteiro challenged the Council of Lisbon to present “the best offer” and thus winning the contest.
