In 12 of the 31 days of May there is a strike take place in Portugal – News Blasting

The month of May has not yet come, but promises longer be a headache. As of today, 25 April, are already marked 4 strikes. TAP, distribution companies, the Lisbon Metro and Carris stop for a promise (or even 10 days) during the month of May. Check out the dates, reasons and the main CLAIMS these strikes.

TAP

The first to announce a standstill for the month of May was the Civil Aviation Pilots’ Union (SPAC). From May 1, and for the next 10 days, the airline’s pilots warn that will be on strike. At issue is, according to the Daily News, the breach of the agreement signed between TAP and the Government in 2014 (and before that, another signed in 1999) which gave the company the right to participate in the capital of the company during privatization. According to the Public, this strike also requires the replacement of the seniority allowance. No civil requisition decree and with minimal services to know, the scenario is complicated for those with travel marked by TAP for the first days of May.

distribution companies

Like the civil aviation pilots, also the staff of the distribution companies have a marked strike to the 1st of May. The announcement was made by the Union of Workers and Service Technicians (SITESE) and the Union of Trade and Services (CESP) on 21 April. The CESP’s strike notice to this day is already common, but this year is different. If in previous years the strike was called to allow workers hyper and supermarkets commemorate this day, this year their motives are deeper, serving strike to demand better working conditions for employees in this sector.

Lisbon Metro

In order to contest the possible sub company also the Lisbon Metro to May 12 for 24 hours reports Anabela Carvalheira, the Federation of Trade Unions of Transport and Communications (Fectrans). Before that, the Lisbon Metro still has a partial strike scheduled for this month. Thus between 6:30 and 10:00 on 28 April, the meter should not circulate in Lisbon.

Cars

Like the Metropolitano de Lisboa, also Carris scheduled a 24-hour strike to protest the sub company. So during the day May 14 is expected that the Carris buses do not travel by Lisbon streets.

They are thus provided 4 strikes for the month of May. On 1 begins the shutdown of TAP, which will last for 10 days. Also on the first stop distribution companies. Day 12 go on strike employees of the Lisbon Metro and 14 the Carris employees.
