More than 80% of the seizures made by the Economic Food Safety Authority (ASAE) of counterfeits result of operations in the districts of Viana do Castelo and Braga.
“About 82% of the seizures are in fact in the logic of the production centers are made in the districts of Viana do Castelo and Braga. (…) The sale takes place in the great fairs, around the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto, where there are large distribution centers, “said Pedro Gaspar Portugal, inspector general of the police force of the ASAE, Lusa.
In February the ASAE seized, in Braga Village, circa 3200 pieces of clothing and footwear in a factory. The total value of seized parts was more than 94 000 euros. This operation has also led to the arrest of an individual and the establishment of the relevant criminal proceedings.
