An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale was felt on the island of Faial, Azores, on Thursday, without, so far, there have been personal injury or property damage, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmospheric (IPMA).
IPMA, the earthquake was recorded at 6:29 a.m. (7:29 a.m. in mainland Portugal) at the stations of the seismic network of the Azores.
The epicenter of the earthquake, of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale, was recorded at about 35 kilometers west-northwest of the village of Capelo, municipality of Horta, Faial.
This earthquake, according to the information available so far, did not cause personal injury or property damage and was felt with maximum intensity IV (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Horta, Faial, and the municipality of Lajes do Pico, on the island of Pico, according to the IPMA.
The Seismic Network of the archipelago of Azores had registered on Wednesday an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale in the parish of Capelo, Faial, Azores.
