Identified 15 new genetic variants that increase risk of breast cancer

Scientists have identified 15 new genetic variants that increase the risk of breast cancer, revealed on Monday a study published in the journal Nature Genetics .

According to the researcher, the findings could facilitate the development of new evaluation tests the risk of cancer, to add a new panel of genetic markers.

“Each of the markers have a small effect on the risk of having the disease, but combining the information of many, we can accurately identify which women can develop breast cancer and adopt strategies to prevent it, “he argued Montserrat Garcia-Closas.
