According to the company, the two features intended to optimize the user experience of the service. One allows the user to receive notifications only for the people you follow on Twitter, by changing the settings of notifications. The other offers what the company calls “quality filter” which, by analysis of a multitude of factors, intends to present the highest quality of content filtering duplicate publications, automated messages and content that does not align with the user’s habits .
How do you explain the the Verge, newly created accounts or whose activities raise suspicions will have a much smaller range than the other, as will be filtered.
However, Twitter says the “quality filter” does not exclude content published accounts that you follow and by accounts which had contact recently. The company suggests that this filter is only an initial version and which may be improved over the next few days.
These features are only novelty in that are now available to all users and not only for verified accounts (easily identified because the front of the name appears a little blue circle with the sign “check”).
These new tools are released at the same time when Twitter announced that since last February, suspended about 230,000 accounts, for they transmit religious extremism and terrorism.
