These cars “talk” with traffic lights – TVI24

The Audi will begin this fall, with the test program TLi technology ( “Traffic Light Information”) that will allow vehicles to receive, in real time, information about the status of the traffic lights.

the technology will be implemented in the Q7, A4 and A4 Allroad, but will only work in some cities and metropolitan areas of the United States. The models will now display a countdown until the signals turn green, reducing anxiety of motorists.

The benefits are several. Since then the reduction in consumption, avoiding the “to-go” it will be possible, in certain situations, just slow down while passing the time until the light-signaling change.

Also in the case of the signal to be getting red drivers are informed, and the car can even do the calculation to indicate that the motorist should start to catch, if you have not time to go.

in the future, the technology can be connected to the navigation system vehicle, Start & amp;. Stop and also to the Cruise Control, allowing the vehicle to maintain a steady speed to always find the signs to green

it is also expected to introduce V2V capabilities (communication vehicle to vehicle ) which, together with the now released V2I, may have a major influence in reducing road accidents and congestion in traffic.
