Brain dogs reacted to language in the same way that human – Else

The man’s best friends can understand many words, according to according to a study published in Hungary based on the observation of 13 dogs and whose findings were published in the scientific publication “Science”.

The researchers monitored the animal brains – as their coach told them certain expressions such as “pretty boy” and “very good” – and found that they reacted similarly to humans, with the left hemisphere to process the meaning of words and the right the associated emotion.

the dogs reacted differently depending not only what was spoken to them but also in terms of intonation with which they were spoken expressions. The left hemisphere tended to be activated only when they heard the words they knew, right when they spoke encouragingly. Both hemispheres are enabled only when the two conditions occur simultaneously.

“This shows that for a good compliment dogs can function as a reward. But it works best if the words were associated with the right intonation, “said Attila Andics, a neuroscientist at the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest.

The researcher believes that the findings suggest that mental capacity to process language does not will be as unique to humans and have evolved before what was thought:

“the neurological capacity to process words, which many thought to be a unique ability of humans are in fact shared with other species. This suggests that the great change that allowed humans to be able to start using words was not after all a big change of neurological capacities. “

The researchers estimate that other species probably also have mental abilities that enable them to understand language, but nevertheless have the same level of interest and interact with the human so as to be sufficiently familiar with it.
