The entry into force of the Green Taxation will lead to a rise in fuel costs. Although it is not yet known the value that will be added to the price so far practiced, President of the Portuguese Association of Oil Companies (APETRO), Anthony Long, argues that the increases should be the order of the four cents, either in gasoline or diesel, according to Radio Renaissance.
This increase is driven by taxes that will come into force as early as 2015 (Green Taxes and contributions on the service road) and counter the downward trend in recent days and led to in some posts, a liter of diesel was sold at less than one euro.
However, according to the RR, the fuel price increase is not totally dependent on the new reform imposed by the government and falls, thus, the dealers set its prices.
At the time of publication, the website of the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) has not updated the price charged at service stations in Portugal and is still present only the values of the last day of 2014
