Thousands of people attended today in the city of Funchal, Madeira, the outbreak of fire firework show eight minutes of greeting to the 2015 year of entry.
Madeira and tourists-positioned in the most strategic locations in the city and surroundings to contemplate the fire firework which lasted eight minutes, entitled “Light Diamond” and prepared by the Minho company “Macedo’s Pyrotechnics”, who also designed the pyrotechnics for the New Year on the island of Porto Santo.
At midnight, the whistles of the boats began to sound and the bay of Funchal sky was filled with light, snaps of various colors and various choreographic pyrotechnics simultaneously with the wishes of a happy year 2015 exchanged between thousands of people attending the largest tourist attraction of Madeira.
The fireworks display was launched this year from 34 fire firework stations – three on the sea, eight on the waterfront and 23 along the Funchal amphitheater – and was accompanied by 10 cruise ships docked or off the Funchal bay, with over 20,000 people in transit ., between passengers and crew
“Diamond Light” had 130,014 shots, 29,517 kg of fire Fireworks and 6710 kg of gunpowder
For this show -. which annually attracts thousands of tourists to the region and this year recorded an average occupancy above 90 percent with the particularity of most 5 star hotels to skim next occupations of 100 percent – the Government invested 1.046 million euros.
In total (Christmas lights and pyrotechnics), the Madeiran government spent in 2014 the amount of EUR 2.5 million.
