The Basic School (EB) 1 Gestalinho in Castelo da Maia, was damaged the roof and the windows following the branches of a falling tree struck by lightning, this Friday, official sources told Lusa.

                     

                         According to the District Command Relief Operations (CDOS) of Porto, the incident caused no injuries, but “the school was closed for the day.” CDOS the source explained that it was for 9:58 a.m. that lightning struck a tree in EB 1 Gestalinho at Rua Padre Abilio Sampaio, Maia, and the branches that fell just spoiled “part of the roof and windows” of the educational establishment .

At the site were, according to the same source, local civil protection services and the GNR Maia.
