Festival of Cinema returns in May with tickets at reduced prices – RTP

For three days you can buy movie tickets € 2.5.

 The second edition of the Film Festival, where the prices of movie tickets will cost 2.5 euros at participating rooms, will take place from 16 to 18 May, revealed today the organization.

At Lusa, Nuno Sousa, exhibitor, said the Film Festival will have an edition in May, but sent more information to this week. The inicativa happened for the first time in 2015 and had approximately 200,000 viewers.

In May 2015, the first Festival of Cinema, organized by exhibitors and Portuguese distributors, extended about 500 rooms film across the country, with tickets costing 2.5 euros.

at the time, the organization stated that this initiative intended to “celebrate the cultural and social act of going to the movies,” at a time when the cinema faces strong competition with other display models, including through the Internet.

the film Festival is an initiative of the Portuguese Association of Motion Picture Companies, with the support of the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA ) and distributors of audiovisual content.

according to statistics from the ICA in 2015, the cinema recorded 14.5 million viewers and 74.9 million euros of gross ticket revenue which represented an increase of about twenty percent compared to 2014.
