US National Security warns of ‘adware’ Lenovo – Daily News – Lisbon

The US government advises computer users the Chinese brand Lenovo to remove Superfish adware.

The case was revealed in 2014, when it was discovered that Lenovo’s computers have brought this adware, many users consider it to be a form of virus. Adware Superfish is a program that, without the user’s consent, injects advertising portals and pages.

“systems that had the software already installed will continue vulnerable until corrective action is taken,” warned the Department US National Security in a note that explains how to resolve the problem.

Because according to Department of Homeland Security, the way the Superfish works, intercetando encrypted connections, can compromise the e accounts mail and to the safe use of banking sites.

Lenovo reaffirms that the software is not malicious, but admits he has flaws that could compromise the safety of users and ensures that is taking steps to address the situation.
