78 municipalities compensate taxpayers in IRS – Rossio Gazette

From next Sunday and until the end of the month of May follows the deadline for the 2014 IRS delivery To combat the extreme scenario of last year, in which the tax burden remained at maximum, 78 municipalities wish to receive their tax residents compensating them with part of value of your tax.

The measures set by the government for this year aim to continue to keep in maximum IRS rates charged and tax deductions in minimum. In this sense, to compensate taxpayers, 78 municipalities decided this year to offset the effect of high tax burden, giving a discount on IRS on its residents.

The news, advanced by the Business Journal, mentions data of the Tax and Customs Authority, explaining that in practice municipalities will forego part of the IRS on behalf of taxpayers.

The 78 municipalities to implement this measure, account for only 25% of the Portuguese authorities, and although Lisbon listed, are smaller municipalities that have more weight in total.

The title of the capital, a taxpayer with tax residence in Lisbon will be entitled to a return of 2.5% Your IRS, and Cascais and Amadora return 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively
