Two helicopters reinforced firefighting in Arouca municipality

Two helicopters will strengthen this Tuesday morning fire fighting which is affecting the Arouca municipality for nearly 18 hours and at 06:30 had an active front, said a source from the Civil Protection.
Speaking to Lusa News Agency, the source of the District Command Relief Operations (CDOS) Aveiro said that the fire was at 06:30 an active front, but was developing favorably.
“At daybreak, fire fighting will be reinforced by helicopters,” said the same source.
In the fire fighting are several fire brigades from the districts of Aveiro, Porto and Coimbra.

The same source CDOS of Aveiro told Lusa that still can not account for damage to Arouca walkways.
In a statement on their official website and social networks, the Municipality of Arouca states that it was not possible “to determine the amount of damage” caused by the fire and that “until normalcy is restored, the Paiva Walkways will be closed. “
